James Gunn has said he does not think anyone on the internet has guessed correctly who will play Idris Elba in the new Suicide Squad follow up.

Gunn and the cast of The Suicide Squad must attend a special panel on the film today at the DC FanDome (August 22), where confirmation of cast members and their parts is expected to be revealed. The first trailer for the film is also expected to be released at the event.
Responding to Elba on Twitter, who had previously joked that he “might even reveal who I play” in the upcoming film, Gunn said he did not think anyone had guessed Elba’s role well yet.
Gunn wrote: ‘Here’s the craziest part. I do not think I have seen one person online FINALLY judge who you play. ‘

Earlier this month (August 6), fans speculated that Elba had in fact revealed what character he was playing in an online video.
To celebrate Gunn’s birthday, the film’s cast compiled a group of messages for Gunn in a new video. In the video, Elba appears in slow motion with a grin over his voice, apparently confirming lingering rumors that he is playing Bronze Tiger in the upcoming DC movie.
He was not the only character who apparently gave hints about their upcoming characters: John Cale was seen in the video with two arcade guns, with mirrored Peacemaker – a character who had two guns doing the comic book franchise.
David Dastmalchian was also seen with dots on his face in the video, apparently confirming rumors that he will play Batman villain, the Polka Dot Man.
Meanwhile, producer Charles Roven recently released an update on what fans can expect from Gunn’s upcoming film.

He added: “Everything I’ve seen so far has been just wonderful. And, you know, we have tremendously talented actors in every role, some you know and some you will surprise in the roles they play.
‘The film will have everything in it. It will be enormously fun and great action, [have] wonderful effects, some great characters, and also, I think it will put a lump in my throat and maybe a tear in your eye along the way as well. It has everything, really. I’m really excited about it. ”
