Manchester United fans want to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer make five changes to his opening XI for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
The two clubs will take time out of their intense battle for the Champions League standings to face off for a place in next month’s final at Wembley.
United is the in-form side of the game and has not lost in 19 games, but there has been a noticeable drop in performance levels in the past two games.
It could probably be attributed to fatigue as Solskjaer has understandably stayed on the same side in the hectic match schedule, but fans would like to see some changes made against Chelsea.
The first of which stands between the clubs, with second-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero maintaining his role as cup goalkeeper in place of regular starter David De Gea.
While supporters want Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire to keep their places, they want change elsewhere on defense. First of all, they would like to see Eric Bailly come after Victor Lindelof, who has not been in the best form in recent games, no doubt remembering how well the Ivorian played against Chelsea in February.
They would also like to see, if he made a full recovery from the nasty cut he suffered against Southampton, Brandon Williams would return to the side on the left side, despite Timothy Fosu-Mensah’s encouraging showing in the win over Crystal Palace.
In midfield, supporters have asked for Nemanja Matic to be reinstated to the starting XI after resting on Thursday, with Scott McTominay making his way, but they want Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba to stay on the side.
The final change that fans want to see is the attack, with young Mason Greenwood resting in favor of Daniel James. If they get away with it, the Welshman will join Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in the attack.
XI vs. Chelsea from Manchester United fans: Romero; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Williams; Fernandes, Matic, Pogba; James, Martial, Rashford.
