Yannick Ngakoue’s attempt to force his way out of Jacksonville hit a bump in the road.
Ngakoue has parted ways with his agent, Tom Pelissero, NFL Network, reported per a source in the league.
The Jaguars franchise tagged Ngakoue during the entire season, but the edge rusher has refused to sign his tag due to his unhappiness with his current situation. Ngakoue has publicly sparred with the team’s co-owner, and he is openly campaigning for his freedom, both via Twitter.
Jacksonville has received offers for Ngakoue, but none has been enough for a trade to become a reality. Last week, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone told reporters he did not speak to Ngakoue, who has not reported being in camp and appears to be happy with the season’s in vogue popular with Le’Veon Bell for his wish to receive.
A separation of ways with his representation might indicate a clearer path for a resolution for Ngakoue – or it could just be a sign of a tense situation that is getting worse with each passing week in which Ngakoue is still a Jaguar .
In the meantime, Ngakoue has to wait five days before hiring a new agent, per Pelissero. The delay continues.
