There are a lot of ridiculous, baseless allegations of voter fraud going on right now – but a shocking news is coming from Florida that could ruin our country’s proud institution: the NFL Pro Bowl.
The 2021 Pro Bowl will already be fantastic, taking place in Madden instead of the football field, but Jaguar fans got the chance amidst the chaos. They realized that if Yannick Nagakui was named the Pro Bowl, the Vikings, who traded for a defensive end in August, would be forced to give Jacksonville a fifth-place, fourth-round pick because of the escalator language in the trade. This was the lightbulb moment.
Jaguar fans headed to Redcott, to get Nagakui into the Pro Bowl, and to select friends around NFC North. Now fans of packers, lions and bears are helping Dowell in his quest, as it is a pleasure for him to screw over the Vikings.
It should be noted that Nagakoi is not eligible to make the Pro Bowl this season. It’s not entirely his fault after jumping from team to team, but he is currently ranked 20th in the NFL (10th in the AFC) in the bag, and without any pressure down the stretch he doubts he will be in the team this season.
That said, it’s all fun. No one really wow at the Pro Bowl, so it’s not like pushing Nagakui into the game, it spoils the sanctity of the event, and any opportunity for fans to impress other fans is excellent. Also, I like the amount of work and effort involved in organizing a league-wide scheme to pay for a fifth-round pick to be replaced by a fourth-round pick. He’s the most tragic hero in history, but I’m totally here for him.
Jaguar fans bless you for giving us something beautiful to rally around us.
