Jadevan Clooney has signed a 1-year, M 15M deal with the Titans

Jadevin Clooney is signing a 15 15 million one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN’s Adam Schaefter.

Clooney was “expected to sign” with the team by Saturday night. The New Orleans Saints were also interested in a defensive end, but according to ESPN’s Diana Rushin, their offer to the Titans came back at around 2 2 million.

Clooney was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and spent most of his career with the Houston Texans before trading in the Seattle Seahawks before the 2019 season. He hit the free agency fee this past spring and is signing nine days before Titan’s 2020 season opener. They play the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football .L in Week 1.

Clooney rejoined Varabel

Clooney, 27, will rejoin coach Mike Varabel with the signature. They worked together for three seasons in Houston when Hourost was the defensive line coach. One of those years Clooney arrived in the Pro Bowl after a season in which he had 59 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.

The Varabel and Titans reached the AFC Championship game in 2019 and lost to the eventual champions Kansas City Chiefs.

In six NFL seasons, Clooney has 236 tackles, 71 tackles for loss and 32 sacks. The three-time Pro Bowl selection was one of the biggest remaining stars in the free agent market ahead of the season’s openers. He is coming out of a major injury that does not require surgery.
