Attorney Patrick Keferty said the 29-year-old is at a spinal cord injury rehabilitation center in Chicago. “I can’t give more details.”
He declined to say when Blake left the hospital or how long he expected to remain in rehabilitation.
Opposes and calls for reform
Blake told officers he had a knife, according to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Investigators later recovered a knife from the floorboard next to the driver of Blake’s vehicle, the agency said.
Patrick Salvi Jr., another attorney for the Black family, denied police protection, saying officers had enough time to make the right decision.
“At no time did Jacob move towards the officers, and what you see is that the officer is pulling his shirt and then he puts seven bullets in Jacob’s back. If he was worried that Jacob had a knife, why not? Went back? ”The prosecutor asked.
“If we’re not talking about reform legislation – some of these will immediately reform the police – I really don’t want to say anything to you,” he told CNN last month.
‘Breathing hurts’
“Your life and not just your life, your feet – something that you need to move around, to move forward in life – man, can be taken this way,” he said, biting his fingers.
Blake had staples in his back and abdomen at the time, and said his pain was constant.
“It hurts to breathe. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to move to the side. It hurts to eat.” “You don’t have to deal with this.”
