While fans waited for a “cruel summer” due to the ongoing pandemic, Taylor Swift came up with the surprise of the season by announcing that her eighth studio album, Folklore, will arrive at midnight on Friday (July 24).
In her announcement, Swift revealed that the album was made in collaboration with several of her “musical heroes,” including someone she considers “basically a musical family at the moment,” Jack Antonoff.
Antonoff is similarly excited about the release, and went to Twitter on Thursday (July 23) to explain that the songs “August” and “Tears Ricochet” are “my favorite things we’ve done together.” And that’s saying a lot, because the two of them have made a ton of amazing music together.
“I can’t wait for everyone to hear this beautiful work, sooner …” continued Aaron Shouter, who co-wrote and produced 11 of FolkloreThere are 16 songs. “I love you and you are so brilliant. One day we will be in the same room,” Antonoff wrote.
