Ivanka Trump, daughter of the President and senior adviser to the White House, quickly criticized on social media on Tuesday night when she published a photo of herself presenting a can of Goya black beans.
“If it’s Goya, it has to be good,” he published. She included the Spanish translation, “If it’s Goya, it has to be Good.”
The famous food company, which specializes in Latin cuisine and recipes, found itself at the center of the county’s ongoing “cancel culture” movement when Bob Unanue, its president, refused to back down after praising President Trump for the last week at the White House. Unanue, who is of Spanish descent, said the country is “truly blessed” to have a president like Trump.
His praise for Trump led the left to call for a boycott, and then Trump supporters retaliated and called for a “buycott.” Conservatives across the country have turned to social media to celebrate when Goya products sell out in supermarkets.

Ivanka Trump’s post on her personal account drew criticism. Peter Baker, the chief White House reporter for the New York Times and an analyst for MSNBC, tweeted: “Federal Ethics Act: ‘An employee must not use or permit the use of his or her position or government title or any authority associated with his public office to endorse any product, service or company … “The tweet was retweeted by journalist Maggie Haberman.
Proponents of Ivanka Trump turned to social media to say that he was probably mocking the controversy.
Democrats were accused of using their offices to try to harm the company. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., tweeted: “Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling ‘how to make your own Adobo.'”
Julián Castro, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development of the Obama administration, tweeted: “@GoyaFoods has been a staple of so many Latino households for generations. Now its CEO, Bob Unanue, praises a president who villains and maliciously attacks the Latinos for political gain. ” Americans should think twice about buying their products. #Goyaway “.
Corey Lewandowski, Senior Advisor to the Trump 2020 Campaign, praised Unanue for his courage.

“This is the hypocrisy of the media,” said Lewandowski. “And I think the Trump train is going to pass and Goya’s earnings are going to go through the roof.”
