Original article: 19 August 2020 at 09:13 ET: No, it’s not just you. Mega-popular music streaming service Spotify is indeed appearing to be offline as there are currently major connection issues.
‘We are currently aware of some issues and are checking them out! We will keep you informed, ‘read a tweet from the official Spotify Cares Twitter account.
For specific issues, users report that they cannot search for songs or stream music. Other Spotify users also notice that their playlists are being deleted, but most likely this is just a temporary break instead of permanent deletion.
Some users report that they can still play locally stored tracks and use offline mode. That you are lucky now if you download most of your tracks anyway.
The station does not seem to be restricted to any specific region, with users in the likes of France, Israel, Japan, Portugal, Russia and the US all reporting issues on Downdetector.
Nevertheless, we will update the article as soon as we hear more from Spotify about the implementation. In the meantime, you can check out our list of the 10 best free streaming music apps on Android.
