Finally, it seems that the famous and punishing Cuphead is coming to PS4, after they were listed in the international PlayStation stores on Monday afternoon.
As seen by the always nimble Wario64 on Twitter, Cuphead took up a occupied spot in the New Games section of the PlayStation Store before it was taken apart without a replacement. Apparently, clicking the listing did not load anything.
Cuphead may be coming to PS4, it is appearing in international PSN stores right now, but the list of games is not yet loaded pic.twitter.com/ME7oRLkSEM28 July 2020
First released in 2017 on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, StudioMDHR’s retro-style platformer later released on other PC platforms, and in 2019 on Nintendo Switch. Hell, you can play Cuphead on Tesla’s car screen, so it’s about time PS4 arrives.
The fact that it appeared on the PlayStation Store is pretty compelling, but The Game Awards presenter Geoff Keighley added further confirmation by mentioning “a special update from one of our favorite independent studios” on Tuesday, July 28. Keighley also tweeted and removed a response to Wario64, apparently confirming the news.
So not only is Cuphead likely on its way to PS4, but it will probably happen very soon. If the port is announced on Tuesday, it shouldn’t be long after it appears to stay on the PlayStation Store. Tune into the Summer Game Fest broadcast Tuesday at 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT / 4 p.m. BST and (perhaps, probably) listen to the news for yourself in real time.
