Producers of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” have spoken out to deny rumors that the show will be canceled, Fox News reported Thursday.
After a report by The Sun that the daytime talk show could be canceled due to falling ratings and rumors that DeGeneres is “bad” for its staff, representatives from Telepictures Television said they “can confirm that it is not true, “according to Fox.
Ratings for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” recently fell 14%, taking it to a season low, according to a report by TVNewsCheck.
However, the show is still slated for 2022, according to Reuters.
DeGeneres has faced a backlash in recent months. In April, she was criticized by many on social media after saying that quarantining her mansion was “like being in jail,” Deseret News previously reported.
Later that month, members of the scene team on the DeGeneres show complained about his treatment and “miscommunication” as the show closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Deseret News.
When DeGeneres started filming episodes from home, the show decided to hire a non-union company to work for them.
