A young male has been taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries after two groups of young men clashed on the Samuel Beckett Bridge tonight.

It is understood that the clashes involved two rival gangs of youths and that the wounded man was stabbed during the incident near the Convention Center in Dublin’s Docklands.

Videos of the brief altercation on social media show dozens of young people crashing on the bridge amid night traffic. A second video shows Gardaí attending the scene and treating a person lying on the ground.

Gardaí said the Store Street and Pearse Street Garda Stations units are currently responding to a “public order incident involving large numbers of young people, which occurred on the Samuel Beckett Bridge tonight.”

“A man has been transferred to Mater Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.”

Gardaí confirmed that no arrests have yet been made and that investigations are underway.
