A young man has died after a kitesurfing accident on a Dublin beach this morning.
The man, in his 30s, got into trouble at Dollymount Strand shortly after 9 a.m.
Emergency services were alerted to the scene, but the man was recovered from the water and pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be done later tonight, Dublin Live reports.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí was alerted to an incident at Dollymount Strand, which occurred shortly after 9 am this morning, Saturday October 31, 2020.
“A kite surfer in his 30s had gotten into trouble in the water. They pulled him out of the water and pronounced him dead.
“His body has been transferred to Mater Hospital, where an autopsy will be performed at a later date.”
