A young man was brutally assaulted in a night attack in Co Mayo on Friday.
The incident occurred on Bridge Street in Ballyhaunis around 10:45 p.m. last night.
A man in his 20s was rushed to Mayo University Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
No one has been arrested yet and officers continue to investigate.
A Garda spokesman said: “The Gardaí is investigating an assault that occurred on Bridge Street, Ballyhaunis at approximately 10:45 pm last night, Friday September 4.
“A man in his 20s was taken to Mayo University Hospital with serious but not fatal injuries.
