Munster has a yellow storm status warning until 10 p.m.
Met Éireann says there is a possibility of downpours and lightning in some parts.
Forecaster Deirdre Lowe says more areas of the interior of the province will experience the brunt of thunderstorms.

“There are thunderstorms and they are brewing and getting more intense throughout the afternoon with the high temperatures and the sun that we are experiencing right now,” Lowe said.
“The air is very unstable, so there will be localized downpours, some lightning and thunder activity from now until 10 at night tonight.
“It is mainly about Munster.”
