A woman has died after a collision between her, a car and a truck in North Dublin this afternoon.
Gardai rushed to the Phbsboro crash site around 1pm today.
The woman, whose age is unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road, which is usually heavily traveled, is now closed and Gardai is asking motorists to avoid the area while forensic investigators review the scene.
Gardaai has also made an appeal to any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí is currently at the scene of a fatal traffic collision involving a truck, car and pedestrian that occurred at approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2020, in Phibsborough Road, Dublin 7.
“The pedestrian (age not confirmed at this time) was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the truck and car were unharmed.
“The road is currently closed and forensic collision investigators are on site. There are local detours.
“Gardaí is asking for witnesses to this collision to come forward. Gardaí is also asking road users to be able to have camera footage (including the dash cam) traveling in the area at the time so that these images are available for Gardaí.
“Anyone with information is requested to contact the Mountjoy Garda station at 01 6668600, the Garda confidential line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
