THE GOVERNMENT HAS announced plans to ease the Covid-19 restrictions in December and over the Christmas period.
Cabinet this afternoon approved advice for reopening the company, including reopening restaurants, retail and restrictions on domestic visitors.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin confirmed tonight that Ireland go back to level 3 from Tuesday, December 1 – with some modifications.
Public health officials had previously urged caution regarding the reopening of pubs serving food and allowing dinners indoors, as well as expressing concern over the resumption of religious services.
It was confirmed tonight that inter-county travel restrictions and a level 5 home visit ban will remain in effect until Dec. 18.
Meetings up to 15 people can take place outdoors. Organized events should not be held indoors. Homes should not mix with homes other than those within its bubble until Dec. 18, the Taoiseach said tonight.
However, home visits will be allowed after December 18. until January 6.
Starting December 18, homes can mix with two other homes with a relaxation of travel rules, which means that people can visit relatives across the country at Christmas.
That means three households, including yours, can meet indoors. Inter-county travel will be allowed through January 6.
The government has said that home visits will be a personal choice for people and has urged people to follow public health advice.
