Wexford GAA has confirmed that there have been six positive cases among its senior hurling and soccer panels.

Both panels were tested at the Ferns Center of Excellence on Monday night, and the results came in early Tuesday afternoon.

Tests for four senior soccer players and two senior pitchers were positive.

The Yellowbellies risked their Leinster hurling title against Galway on October 31 at Croke Park, while the footballers have two rounds of the Allianz League to complete before a provincial clash against neighboring Wicklow.

Wexford GAA President Derek Kent confirmed that pitchers under 20 years of age have been suspended until further notice as they appear to have a leak under control at that panel.

Kent said the players have a 26-man panel ready to face Limerick on Sunday in a decisive draw for both counties as they seek promotion from Division 4.

Similarly, the high-level launch panel continues to train before their clash against the tribesmen.

The situation with the U-20 team will be monitored before their Leinster semi-final, which is scheduled for 4 November.

Meanwhile, the Leinster Council has confirmed venues and times for all provincial matches ahead of the Covid-delayed Leinster soccer and hurling championship.

All four Leinster SHC games will be held at Croke Park.
