Temperatures will rise to 22 ° C in some parts of the country this weekend when Ireland gets a mini heat wave, but things are looking pretty bleak for the west coast.
The east and south of the country will enjoy a lot of sun in the coming days, but the rains will prevail over Connacht and western Ulster.
Donegal, in particular, will be affected after Met Eireann issued a 24-hour rain warning, which begins at 12 p.m.
Saturday will see even more average temperatures, before things start to sizzle on Sunday.
A forecaster from Met Eireann said: “Scattered showers in Connacht and Ulster this morning and early afternoon, but otherwise dry with periods of sunshine.
“The cloud will thicken in the northern areas during the afternoon, with heavy and persistent rains moving north from Connacht and Ulster from the Atlantic later in the afternoon.
“Throughout the night, the rain will be confined mainly to the west and north of Ulster. A windy day, with cooling winds from the southwest, increasing strongly and gusts in the coastal areas of the west and north during the afternoon and at night The maximum temperatures range between 15 ° C and 18 ° C.
“Sunday morning will start overcast with spotty drizzle near the western shores. It will light up in most areas during the afternoon, with warm and sunny spells developing.
