WATERFORD has confirmed its line-up for the final of Sunday’s senior hurling championship in Ireland.
Liam Cahill’s side faces Limerick at 3.30 in Croke Park on December 13.
There is a change from the semi-final victory over Kilkenny: Neil Montgomery instead of Jake Dillon.
It is a Waterford team that has the impressive Tadhg de Búrca as central defender. The impressive Clashmore-Kinsalebeg club man is the son of Caherconlish native Timmy Bouke, and Tadhg still has relatives in the East Limerick village.
Joining De Búrca in the middle line is the experienced Kevin Moran. In the mid-1980s, Kevin’s father, Paul, was manager of the ABP meat plant in Rathkeale.
In another Limerick link, the senior sponsor of the Waterford hurling team is Tom Quilty from TQS Integration Ltd. Tom is an Ardpatrick native and pitched with Blackrock before moving to Waterford. He is the brother of 2018 Limerick All-Ireland SHC winning coach Jimmy Quilty.
WATERFORD: Stephen O’Keeffe; Ian Kenny, Conor Prunty, Shane McNulty; Calum Lyons, Tadhg de Búrca, Kevin Moran; Jamie Barron, Kieran Bennett; Jack Fagan, Neil Montgomery, Stephen Bennett; Dessie Hutchinson, Austin Gleeson, Jack Prendergast.
