This is the heartwarming moment of Dublin GAA superfan Tony ‘Molly Malone’ Broughan leaving his native Goat for the last time.
Tony, the legend of Dubs, was buried today after his funeral mass took place at the Church of the Precious Blood, not far from his home.
Tony was famous among Dubs fans and players, as well as the GAA community at large, for supporting Ireland’s best team across the country for 80 years.
Fortunately, he was able to see his beloved Dubs do five in a row in his later years attending games at Croker.
The procession, which was organized by Dublin GAA supporters, traveled from their home on Carnlough Rd in Cabra to the Church of the Precious Blood for their funeral mass.

As these moving videos show, friends and onlookers sang a haunting rendition of Molly Malone as the procession made its way to church, with mourners singing the same song as Tony’s remains are removed after the funeral.
A loyal friend of Tony’s and another True Blue Michael Heffernan kindly allowed us to republish the videos for this story. Our thoughts are with the Broughans at this sad time, and also with their many friends from across the GAA family, including Michael.
Good trip Tony, we will miss you friend.
