Warning as ‘dangerous’ gang of Dublin boys starting fires ‘abusing mothers’ and using fireworks as ‘weapons’

A community warning has been issued to alert locals to “dangerous” gangs of children who start fires and terrorize residents.

The Donabate vandals are said to be “abusing women,” especially mothers in the area, kicking their strollers and scaring their babies as they pass by.

The groups have also caused numerous fires, and Gardai and the Fire Department are constantly calling to clean up their horrible messes.

A text alert sent to residents of the village warned that the children were a “danger to others.”

It said: “Women have been abused, their strollers kicked, years of work in the area damaged. Parents, you must take responsibility for your child.”

“Parents who ‘not my child’ need to take control and build a future for their children.”

In another incident, groups of 14 and 15 years old are alleged to have been hanging out in front of trains near Beaverstown Golf Club and setting off fireworks at train conductors.

The caption adds: “Gardai attended, but the group had left. Obviously, they are extremely dangerous. There is nothing wrong with parents having a conversation with their children if they stay in that area.

Last week, a group of “malicious” thugs in Donabate set several plastic furniture on fire and ruined the nature club’s storage container, even setting fire to a small tree that had been planted by a child.

Frustrated OWLS leader Andrew ‘Mouse’ Fleming said this was not the first time that the nonprofit Outdoor, Wildlife, Learning and Survival had been targeted by yobs in Donabate.

The passionate and popular local leader wrote on the OWLS Facebook page this morning: “This is a message to the people who trashed the ‘OWLS’ children’s activity forest in Turvey.

“YOU WIN…!

“Charity is already about to bend (similar to many others in these times), but what they have done this time has taken the wind out of the sails.

“This time you were malicious … You started a fire and instead of burning wood, you burned our folding tables, our storage container, the tarps that covered and kept the benches when they were not in use.

“But what really surprised me was a tree planted by a young OWLS member who took it upon himself to find a small tree and plant it in a plastic pot. You burned it too.

“I’m done, so again, you win. For NOW, I’m going to retire from the park as I have to try to keep the charity going.

“If the new year comes and we are still going, I will seek funds to rebuild, only this time for sure.

“I know which direction it is coming from as the park is currently closed due to project works, so the only way to access the site is via the Donabate / golf course.

“You even left a full beer bottle in the space between the golf course and our course to signal your entry.

“If the charity survives the next few months, I will end its disregard for other people’s property.”
