Irish customers have panicked because their internet connection stopped working just hours before the Late Late Toy Show starts.

Vodafone Ireland customers across the country, including Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Wexford and Louth, have turned to Facebook to complain after experiencing problems with their TV and broadband connections.

“Network disconnected, working from home … disaster! Oh, and your TV service works on your broadband … Let’s hope he’s back in time for the Late Late Toy show … or the kids will be very disappointed! ” one wrote.

“My broadband, TV and data are down here. Do you have any idea of a time frame, since I have a very excited child waiting for the toy show?” another echoed.

A third added: “The bandwidth is down once more and we need it to watch the Toy Show. Great, just great.”

A fourth said, “Biggest night of the year and decides to leave. I have internet and channels with you and nothing! The kids are having a heart attack! And they can’t connect to your number.”

Vodafone posted an apology on its Facebook page, writing: “We are currently experiencing outages in some of our data services. Our technical teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

The Toy Show is scheduled to begin on RTÉ One at 9.35pm tonight.

Yesterday host Ryan Tubridy revealed that the topic is the wonderful world of Roald Dahl.

Ryan spoke to RSVP Live and gave us a sneak peek of what to expect from this year’s show:

“I wish the topic was my idea!” Ryan started.

“But I think people behind the scenes said, ‘Okay, let’s make them happy this year and take them to the happy place!’ For me, the happy place is books, Roald Dahl and childhood. So that’s almost a triple whammy, and it brings us to the 2020 Toy Show. What a quirky, weird, weird path it’s been, but what I get from people is that they don’t want this year’s Toy Show, I need to. “
