Man Utd’s target Donny van de Beek told his Ajax teammates that he would be moving to Man Utd.

The Dutchman has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tries to improve his squad.

It was reported Saturday that the player was waiting to move to Barcelona and he had told his agent to prioritize a dream step to Camp Nou.

But according to Spanish source Diario Sport (via Mirror), van de Beek has now told his teammates at Ajax that a trade to United is imminent.

They claim the player is preparing to move to Manchester and will join the club in the coming weeks.

He was even left out of Ajax’s most recent team because of the events surrounding his future.

A potential deal is expected to cost United around £ 40 million, although this could rise to £ 50 million with add-ons.

The arrival of Van de Beek may mark the end of Fred’s career at the club. The Brazilian has been linked to a move to Turkey and his playing time will surely be reduced if the club signs another midfielder.

Van de Beek’s creativity may cause him to form a strong association with existing midfielders Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes. The transfer would give Solskjaer greater depth at that position and a better chance to fight for the title.

It seems that the signing will become the first of the summer club. They have been linked to a long list of players, but they have yet to bring anyone to Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho has been one of the biggest stories of the transfer window, but now it looks like he will remain in Dortmund for the 2020/21 campaign.

If they fail in their search for Sancho, then they can prioritize Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. English has been valued at around £ 80 million.
