United States Women have seen their claim dismissed in court

The claims of the US women’s national soccer team USA For equal pay, they have been dismissed by a court in the United States.

A judge in California dismissed the players’ claims that they were underpaid compared to the men’s national team, but allowed allegations of unfair doctors, travel and training to proceed to trial.

The players had been seeking $ 66 million in damages under the Equal Pay Act, alleging that they had been subject to ongoing institutionalized gender discrimination, including unequal remuneration, despite having the same job responsibilities as national players in the men.

“The WNT (Women’s National Team) has received more cumulative and average payouts per game than the MNT (Men’s National Team) during the class period,” the court said in its summary judgment.

Molly Levinson, a spokeswoman for the players, said they plan to appeal the decision.

USA Women beat the Netherlands to claim a fourth World Cup title last summer, making it the most successful team in history.

However, the judge ruled that the players’ claims that they do not receive the same treatment as men when it comes to travel, training, housing and other areas could proceed.

The trial date is set for June 16.
