An airliner traveling from Spain to the UK had to divert to Cork on Sunday night after an annoying passenger became too much for the crew.
The Jet 2 flight en route from Fuerteventura to Manchester was diverted to Cork after the captain and crew became concerned about the behavior of the woman, who was traveling with her partner and her son, reports CorkBeo.
Airport police and the fire service met the plane after it made an unexpected stop on the Cork runway.
The woman, in her 30s, was arrested and will appear in court in Cork later today.
A CorkAirport spokesperson told CorkBeo that Togher’s Gardai were called in and interviewed the crew.
“The passenger was unloaded along with her partner and son,” the spokesman said.
“As there was no accommodation available for the couple and the child, they boarded the flight again before continuing to Manchester.”
The flight landed safely in Manchester: Gardai in Togher is expected to contact his counterparts in Manchester while the investigation of the incident continues.
The woman will appear in court today in Cork.
