Two taken to hospital after separate incidents in Cork

Two people have been rushed to hospital following separate incidents in Cork today.

Investigations are underway following a traffic incident involving a bicyclist that occurred in Glenville shortly before 10:30 a.m. this morning.

A man in his 60s was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

A Garda spokesperson said:

“Gardaí is investigating a traffic incident involving a bicyclist that occurred in the Ballybrack area of ​​Glenville, Co. Cork on 10/25/2020 at approximately 10:20 am.

“A cyclist, in his 60s, was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

“No other vehicle was involved in this incident.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

In a separate incident this morning, it reported that a man was taken to hospital after a collision involving a pedestrian and a car at Innishmore in Ballincollig.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to Cork University Hospital to receive treatment for the injuries he sustained after the incident that occurred shortly after 11 a.m., Gardaí confirmed.

The driver of the car was unhurt.
