Two men have been charged in connection after Gardai discovered that € 7 million worth of drugs were seized in the port of Dublin.
Gardai and Hacienda officials discovered 352 kilograms of herbal cannabis that arrived in a container from Spain on Friday.
Two men, aged 47 and 49, must appear before the Criminal Justice Court, District Court number 2, at 10.30 am.
A 31-year-old man arrested in connection with this seizure has been released without charge.
Now a file will be prepared for the Director of the Public Ministry.
Last week, Dublin Live revealed that rival drug mobs blamed each other after gardai arrested the shared drug shipment.
Furthermore, we reported that one of the country’s biggest crime lords was furious and ordered an investigation.
The leader of the Northside Dublin gang known as Mr Big was linked to the loot.
Sources revealed that several other criminals also had interests in him.
Now everyone is pointing fingers after Treasury and Gardai officials seized the drugs.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Two men have been charged in connection with the seizure of herbal cannabis of more than 7 million euros by customs officials and the Gardaí attached to the National Office for Drugs and Crime Organized by the Garda (GNDOCB) on Friday, October 23, 2020.
“The two men (aged 47 and 49) are scheduled to appear before the Criminal Justice Court, District Court number 2, on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
