President Trump fired the US government’s top election cybersecurity official, who had rejected the president’s claims of “massive” fraud in recent elections.
In a tweet, he accused Chris Krebs, without providing evidence, of making a “very inaccurate” statement about the integrity of the recent elections.
“Chris Krebs’ recent statement on the security of the 2020 elections was very inaccurate as there were massive fouls and fraud,” he wrote in a tweet.
“Therefore, with immediate effect, Chris Krebs has been fired as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.”
… votes from Trump to Biden, late voting and many more. Therefore, with immediate effect, Chris Krebs has been fired as Director of the Infrastructure Security and Cybersecurity Agency.

A CISA spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
Krebs worked to protect the elections from hackers.
He provoked the ire of the Trump White House for efforts to debunk the disinformation, including a CISA “Rumor Control” website and a YouTube video.
Krebs told associates last week that he expected to be fired.
