Trinity College Dublin’s plan to develop a € 1 billion technology campus in Dublin’s so-called Silicon Docks area has been accelerated following the appointment of Savills Ireland to provide financial management and real estate advisory services for the project.
The Trinity East project involves the potential development of an estimated 100,000 square meter (1,076,391 square feet) innovation campus at Trinity’s current site on the Grand Canal Dock, which is within Ireland’s first designated innovation district known as the Grand Canal. Innovation District.
Upon completion, the 5.5-acre site is expected to comprise some 40,000 square meters (430,556 square feet) of academic space, 40,000 square meters of commercial space, and 20,000 square meters (215,278 square feet) of cultural and support uses, with a Estimated gross development value of € 1 billion.
Savills will advise Trinity College Dublin in the initial stages of the project. This work will include preparing the business case, market testing, formulation and design of the procurement strategy and, if applicable, obtaining a development partner to fulfill the project.

Trinity East will host a major new research institute to be known as E3RI focused on bringing together multiple disciplines – engineering, computer science, natural sciences, and materials science – that will work at scale to address some of the most challenging research problems facing businesses and the society. .
Additionally, Trinity’s four national centers, the SFI centers (Amber, ConnecT and Adapt) and the EI / IDA Learnovate Technology Center, will be located on the new campus, allowing for better industry interaction, collaboration and participation.
The campus will also provide significant space for industry co-location and for the development of a new and innovative incubation space for early stage and scale enterprises.
