INCREDIBLE ENERGY

A tribute on RIP.ie read: “Declan was a beautiful boy, he had everything.

“Handsome, smart, witty, and oh so charming. He had so much energy and lived his life like no other. He was loved by countless people.

“Declan was growing up. He was a very lucky guy. He did well in school and won a place at Trinity College to study computer science.

“He was in his third year and he was eager to live the life he had planned for himself.

“He had a lovely group of friends from all walks of his life and he had also met Gaia, someone special with whom to share his hopes and dreams.

THE DEEPEST SYMPATHIES

“The other day this perfect and beautiful boy had an accident. He was not supposed to wake up here on this earth with the people who love him.

“He has gone and brought that amazing energy and spark to his grandparents … It will light up their world as it lit ours.

“This is not the end of his story, we will meet again …

“We will love you, remember you and miss you until the end of our days.

“Some of us burn too hot to stay long enough to find our way.”

Sadly lost

St Abbans AC in Laois also extended its deepest condolences to the family and friends of former club member Roberts.

A social media post read: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Declan’s parents, Declan and Fiona, for the sudden passing of their son.

“Declan formed ties with the club during his time at Knockbeg College and competed valiantly for the club on many occasions.

“In recent years, Declan had transferred to university at Trinity College Dublin to continue his studies in Computer Science.

“His friends at the club will sadly miss him.

“At the right hand of God was his faithful soul.”
