Tributes have been pouring in to an Irish teenage girl after her body was recovered from the River Boyne last night.
The tragic 18-year-old Jacinta Hand had been reported missing by her family, and extensive searches were carried out in Co Meath on Wednesday.
Both her family and the Gardai had previously said they were very concerned about the teenager, who was last seen in Navan on Saturday.
Sadly, gardai said searches were suspended after a body was recovered from the River Boyne in Navan late Wednesday night.
A garda spokesman said: “Following the recovery of a body from the Boyne River in Navan, Co. Meath, the search for the missing person for Jacinta Hand has been canceled.”
And tributes have been pouring in from shocked locals paying tribute to the “beautiful young lady.”
One wrote: “Tragic news. Rest now angel and condolences to all who loved her and will be so devastated.”
Navan Councilor Emer Toibin wrote on Twitter: “May he rest in peace. God help his family.”
While another local added: “May she rest in peace. The loss of a beautiful young woman with her life ahead of her. Devastating for her family and friends.”
And another mourner said: “Heartbreaking news. There are no words for such a tragedy. The deepest condolences to all who loved this beautiful young woman.”
