The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet today to review Ireland’s response to Covid-19.
The team will examine how around 100 people were incorrectly informed that their coronavirus test was negative, when in fact they had contracted the deadly virus.
The medical director, Dr. Holohan, promised to personally investigate the error.
The team is also expected to review Covid-19’s response in nursing homes, which account for about 45 percent of all deaths in Ireland.
Today the team will also give a weekly update on the tests.
Meanwhile, 31 more people, 18 women and 13 men, died from Covid-19 with 992 new cases announced yesterday.
26 of the patients died in the east, three in the northwest, one in the south and one in the west of the country.
There have now been 365 Covid-19 related deaths and 10,647 cases.
