Viewers of Tommy Tiernan’s show were blown away by a rock n roll-loving Dublin neurosurgeon who appeared on tonight’s episode.

Neurosurgeon professor Ciarán Bolger was a guest on the hit RTE One and the host and viewers at home were stunned by his incredible life.

The senior doctor told Tommy how he struggled to choose between a career as a doctor or a pilot, eventually settling on the former.

But then he managed to get his pilot’s license, and when he’s not doing all of that, he’s leading his own rock band and playing his Xbox.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to praise both the guest and the host.

One woman wrote: “Ciarán Bolger fascinated by #tommytiernanshow As someone who has endured neurosurgery, these amazing surgeons never cease to amaze me. Very grateful for your dedication and talent. ”

Ciaran revealed that he listens to rock music while undergoing surgery, although a former patient said he did not recall hearing any tunes.

He wrote: “@Tommedian’s interview with Dr. Ciaran Bolger was excellent, two geniuses in conversation, they could have listened to them for hours.

“He did my operation in 2009 and even though I don’t remember rock music, I haven’t looked back since.”

Another man was impressed by the doctor’s wide range of skills.

He said: “This boy is a brain surgeon, pilot, singer, astronaut, he basically did everything, he has had no sadness in his life.

“I was happy to have fried an egg properly before.”

And many viewers agreed that Dubliner should be in charge of launching the coronavirus vaccine.

One man wrote: “I should put this boy in charge of launching the vaccine. I would know he does better.”

Another added: “I think Ciaran Bolger would have vaccinated the whole country in a week if he were doing it.”

While one woman said, “Is there any chance that Dr. Bolger is the head of the vaccine program? He would fix it in no time!”
