SATURDAY

LEINSTER SFC FINAL

Dublin v Meath, Croke Park, 7pm

Jordan Morris has been at the forefront in Meath’s championship game thus far

Last weekend, Meath trailed 0-10-0-04 to Kildare and Andy McEntee said they were so poor he didn’t know who to take off with at halftime. It has been 10 years since Dublin was defeated in Leinster and they are unmatched in the province.

Meath has scored 12 goals in two games and had a brilliant second half against Kildare, with young Jordan Morris playing very, very well. The fact that Kildare was ahead at half-time and that it was his mistakes that led to Meath’s goals, therefore I can’t see Dublin losing control.

The Dubs to win it quite easily.

SUNDAY

MUNSTER SFC FINAL

Cork v Tipperary, O’Keeffe Park

Cork players surprised the Kingdom with a late goal in the semi-final

It is fitting that Tipperary is bidding for provincial honors on the centennial of Bloody Sunday.

This final is a novel couple and I am looking forward to it.

I watched the Cork-Kerry semi-final again this week and I don’t think Cork got the credit it deserves. His defense, his physique and his decision making was first class. I think the way they want to play football is awesome.

Do they have room for improvement? Of course yes!

The challenge for Ronan McCarthy is to make sure that ferocity and the willingness not to back down are on the same level it was against Kerry.

Tipperary was poor in the first half against Limerick. Then they recited 1-06 in second period, where Conor Sweeney achieved that wonderful score. They were brilliant in overtime and Brian Fox was outstanding when he came in.

However, I think there is a bond and a belief in this Cork team and I can’t see them taking their eyes off the ball.

It’s a Cork win at Leeside.

ULSTER SFC FINAL

Cavan v Donegal, Athletics Field, 4:00 pm

The Anglo Celt Cup is the trophy on offer

Aside from Cork beating Kerry, Cavan has been the history of the championship. Six games in six weeks, four championships in 21 days.

They were seven down against Monaghan and won the match; they were losing to Antrim and they won the match and then they were ten points down against Down and they won the match, winning convincingly.

So you wonder why they can’t approach the first half of the games in the same way. That said, I don’t think they are credited with reaching a consecutive final at Ulster.

I don’t think Armagh did Donegal any favors last weekend. Donegal looked brilliant, but maybe a little better than they are.

They can hurt you in many ways, from defense, midfield, and the mid-front line. We haven’t even mentioned Michael Murphy, Jamie Brennan, Oisin Gallen, or Paddy McBrearty.

Donegal is not afraid of Cavan and they will throw their boots on them if they make it to the top. See how Cavan’s kicks will pass

It will be the end of the road for Cavan.
