THREE men have been arrested after Gardai seized drugs worth 610,000 euros last night.
Gardai made the discovery in Swords, Dublin.
As part of an intelligence operation directed against organized crime, the Garda National Office for Drugs and Organized Crime (GNDOCB) carried out an intervention on three vehicles.
A Garda spokesman said in a statement: “During the course of the operation, Gardaí seized cocaine worth 350,000 euros and cannabis worth 260,000 euros (pending analysis).”
Three men, ages 49, 46 and 42, were arrested at the scene.
They are currently being detained pursuant to section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Garda stations in North Dublin.
Speaking today, Deputy Commissioner John O’Driscoll for Serious and Organized Crime said: “A Garda Síochána is committed to disrupting the activities of organized criminals who supply drugs to our communities.
“This seizure of a substantial amount of cocaine and cannabis is significant in this regard.”
