Tom Parker from The Wanted has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.

The 32-year-old English singer has started radiation therapy and chemotherapy in an attempt to shrink the tumor and prolong his life.

However, the average life expectancy for such a serious illness ranges from three to 18 months after the first diagnosis.

Tom and his wife of two years, Kelsey, who is currently pregnant with their second child, are hoping for a miracle.

Kelsey said OK! Magazine: “Well there’s a guy named Ben who was diagnosed 25 years ago and he’s still with us. You just have to be really positive.”

Tom added: “I need everyone’s love and positivity. I’m going to fight this. We are already exploring alternative treatments and looking at clinical trials both here and abroad, and our friends have been doing research.

“There are so many stories of people who were given a bad prognosis and are still here five, 10, even 15 years later.

“We are going to fight this to the end.”

Tom, who also competed on the reality show The Jump, has consecutive chemotherapy and radiation sessions for six weeks.

Kelsey explained: “But more tumors will probably appear and you will have to go through the whole process again.

“You could live with this for the rest of your time, where you just have to go through the process of shrinking tumors.

“If someone had told me that my life was going to take Tom to radiotherapy in London every day and that she would be 36 weeks pregnant at the time, I would not have believed it.”

The couple, who got married in 2018, are parents to little Aurelia and are expecting a baby next month.

Kelsey said, “We’re going to have to move on. You think, ‘How could someone cope with this and be pregnant?’ But when you’re at it, you just do it.

“I told my midwife and it was a surreal moment for me. We were both crying.

“I have asked if I can have a home birth in case Tom is really tired, because then he will have more than a month of treatment.”

Tom continued, “I can’t drive right now, so I can’t take Kelsey to the hospital either, so a home birth would be best.”

This number of OK! The magazine hits shelves Tuesday.
