The remainder of Paris St Germain’s Champions League match at home to Istanbul Basaksehir will be played on Wednesday at 5.55 Irish time with a new team of referees, UEFA announced.

The Group H match was suspended following an alleged incident of racism by the fourth official.

PSG said players from both sides left the pitch in the 23rd minute during their final Group H match in Paris.

The French champions said on Twitter that the referee had shown a red card to one of Basaksehir’s staff members, and video footage appeared that appeared to show his assistant manager Pierre Webo accusing the fourth official of using racist language.

“After the referee gives a red card to a member of the opposition staff, discussions between the players and staff of both teams continue with the referee,” PSG said on Twitter.

“The Basaksehir players decide to go back to the dressing room, the Parisians follow them.”

Basaksehir posted a message on his Twitter account that read: “NO TO RACISM #Respect.”

More video footage emerged showing Basaksehir striker Demba Ba protesting with the fourth official on the touchline.

The former Chelsea striker vigorously questioned the referee about his choice of language when referring to the players before being fired.
