The queues derail the sale of Lidl trampolines and swings

Lidl has announced that it will cancel the sale of four outdoor kindergarten products due to the increasing number of people queuing outside stores in recent days.

Trampolines, garden slides, swings, and kids’ cooking games will go on sale nationwide starting Monday. However, Lidl Ireland announced on Saturday that due to “exceptional and unprecedented demand”, which resulted in long morning queues outside stores, these items will no longer be available.

In a tweet, the company said the outdoor crivit trampoline, steaming garden slide, Gemini swing, and wooden kitchen will not be available in stores this week, but will be available at a later date.

“At Lidl, the safety of our colleagues and clients is our number one priority,” said Lidl. “We have implemented numerous measures in all of our stores in the last two months to ensure that appropriate social distancing can be achieved.

“Due to unprecedented demand for certain items in the past few days, we have seen queues form outside our stores prior to opening. These queues have made external social distancing more challenging.

“We apologize to all customers who are disappointed in this decision, but we feel that the safety of our team and customers should be given priority at this difficult time. We will put these items up for sale at a future date.”
