The number of Covid-19 cases in Ireland since the start of the pandemic has exceeded 60,000.
Last night 866 additional cases were announced. It was also confirmed that six more people had died from the virus, bringing the total number of Covid-related deaths to more than 1,900.
The number of new daily cases of Covid-19 has been less than 1,000 in six of the last seven days.
The 866 cases confirmed yesterday brought the total for the last week to 5,861 cases, more than 2,200 less than the previous week.
It means that almost 60,300 cases have been detected here since the pandemic began.
The incidence rate of 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants has fallen again after falling for the third day in a row to 292.1.

Medical Director Dr. Tony Holohan has again appealed to people to behave like a close contact and stay home except for essential reasons.
He also said that it is vitally important that anyone experiencing symptoms isolate themselves and call their GP.
