A man found dead on a road in Co Meath was due to marry in the next few weeks.
The 29-year-old Moldovan national was tragically discovered on the N51 Navan to Slane Road at 2.50 a.m. M.
The young man, who lived near where he was found, had only moved here in the last three months.
He was scheduled to marry his fiancee, who lives in Moldova, in the coming weeks.
Staff at Romayo’s take-out restaurant on Collon Road in Slane, where the man worked, expressed horror at the tragedy.
“He was a very popular young man and he was working here on Friday. He was only in the country for a few months,” said a co-worker.
“We are all shocked and devastated that he is gone. No one knows what happened.”
Local businessman David Smyth, who owns the building where Romayos is located, visited the site on Saturday morning and said that everyone who knew him loved the deceased very much.
“He had only been in Ireland for a few months and was due to marry his fiancee, who is back in Moldova in about three weeks,” he said.

“I visited the scene in the early hours of Saturday morning after the accident. The deceased had lights on his scooter and was wearing a helmet and high visibility jacket.”
“He was here for a short time, but he had already made many friends in the area and was well liked by all who found him.
“It was very popular with the Romayos staff and my heart goes out to them and their loved ones at this time.”
Local Fianna Fail Councilor Wayne Harding said: “This is an absolute tragedy and I am especially sorry for the Romayos staff.
“He was a member of a team of hardworking staff at a very popular and busy takeout.”
