This week there is another mix of weather in store, but the capital can expect mostly dry conditions, according to Met Éireann.
The subtropical air mass will arrive in Ireland today, bringing hot and muggy conditions to the East Coast today and tomorrow, according to forecaster Jean Byrne.
But the downside is that it will be mostly cloudy, he said.
However, if the sun manages to break through the clouds, we could expect nice spells of warm sun tomorrow, he said.
“We will still have this hot air mass and if we get the sun it could reach 20 ° C or more,” he told Independent.ie.
However, the southeast is more likely to get the best of the sun, which could cause temperatures to hit 23 ° C.
But elsewhere it will feel very muggy until the middle of the week, when a cooler regimen will take over, bringing cooler conditions, Byrne said.
Daytime highs on Wednesday and Thursday will hover between 17 ° C or 18 ° C, which is slightly cooler than average for this time of year, he said.
Wednesday will also start off rather dull, with clouds, patchy rain and drizzle in the morning, he said.
However, conditions should improve throughout the day as the clouds gradually give way to brighter spells at dusk.
Wednesday night will be cold with lows of 6 ° C to 8 ° C.
Dry conditions should prevail on Thursday with some sunny and bright spells, but feeling much cooler.
The most persistent rain will move Thursday night, but conditions will improve slightly on Friday with scattered showers followed by a mostly dry day on Saturday.
