A teenager died after the car he was driving collided with a cow.
Josh Fletcher, 18, of the Moira area of Co Down, died in the early hours of Sunday after his car spun off the road after colliding with the animal.
The incident took place on Moira Road in Lisburn around 3 a.m.
Sergeant Jonny Mackenzie has asked potential witnesses to come forward.
“Josh was the driver of a car that went off the road after colliding with a cow around 3am on Sunday, and sadly, he died at the scene as a result of his injuries,” he said.
“We are currently conducting a series of follow-up investigations into the collision and the road remains closed at this time with established detours.
“Josh was traveling in the direction of Moira, between the junctions with Bushfield Road and Moyrusk Road when the collision occurred, and would ask anyone who traveled this stretch of road prior to the collision to contact the police. any information or dash cam footage they may have.
