Teacher-calculated grades available to students today

The Leaving Cert class of 2020 will be able to find out what grades they have been awarded by their teachers since this morning.

Information will be available starting at 9 am on the Department of Education’s online student portal.

Students will have only three days to file an appeal.

Students received their calculated grades last Monday and the CAO offers were issued on Friday.

Students can only appeal if they believe the teacher’s grades have not been properly recorded or processed by the Department of Education.

But appeals will not address the difference between the grades awarded by a teacher and the grade ultimately awarded by the Department of Education.

Students have until 5 pm on Wednesday to file an appeal.

The Department cannot yet say when these appeals will be decided, but says the process will take place as soon as possible.

Students who are not happy with their results still have the option to earn the certificate of completion on November 16.

However, details on how this exam will be conducted have not yet been finalized.
