Former Republic of Ireland international Katie Taylor has received best wishes from several current players ahead of her world title defense against Spain’s Miriam Gutiérrez at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
Taylor crossed paths with the Irish side as they are staying at the same hotel in the English capital.
The soccer team plays England on Thursday night, hoping to beat the Three Lions for the first time since 1988.
The game will be broadcast live on RTÉ2.
Taylor will defend his undisputed lightweight crown in a mandatory fight against Gutierrez after recording a second win over Delfine Persoon in the summer.

Ireland captain Seamus Coleman, Darren Randolph, Shane Duffy, Jeff Hendrick and James McClean posed with Taylor’s belts, which were disinfected before and after, before presenting him with his own away jersey with ‘Katie 10’ printed on the back. .
