Sinéad Kennedy, a native of Cork, will join Maura Derrane and Dáithí O’Sé in the new season of Today, which returns to RTÉ One on Monday, September 21.
She will perform alongside Mr. O’Sé on Mondays and Tuesdays for the ninth season of the much-loved show.
Sinéad Kennedy said she is “very excited” to join Today and that the entire team “has been very welcoming.”
“The show is well loved and I hope I can bring something extra this season,” he said.
Dáithí O’Sé said he is “delighted” to have Ms Kennedy, who is “cut out for the show” on board, while Maura Derrane said she will “add another dimension to Hoy” in season nine.
“We look forward to bringing to our loyal audience a great mix of entertainment, lots of beauty and wellness tips, as well as our usual mix of fun again this year,” he said.
With the addition of Ms Kennedy and the revamped title of the Today show, also comes a new daily 50/50 quiz where viewers can win prizes and a new Home Hacks space where Laura de Barra will give viewers her tips and tricks.
The show will also see the return of social detective James Patrice, as well as Bláthnaid Treacy and Pat Fitzpatrick and Mr Beauty Mark Rodgers himself, along with Ray Lally, who returns with his training masterclasses and Marty Morrisey with his favorite GAA highlights. every Friday.
The show will also cook up daily dinner creations from celebrity chefs like Kevin Dundon, Neven McGuire and Eunice Power.
Executive Producer Janet Frawley said: “We are very excited to begin our ninth season. Over the years, The Today Show, hailing from the city center of Cork, has become an eclectic and agile show.
“On air, we have been with our viewers in very hectic times like Beast from the East in 2018 and now the global pandemic that we are living with. We are part of the daily routine established by our spectators in the afternoon. With over 1000 episodes under our belt, we are a safe and happy afternoon space and fit to have another great season, ”he said.
Today it returns to RTÉ One at 3.30 pm on September 21.
