Defender Kevin Crowley has suffered another shoulder injury, and manager Ronan McCarthy ruled it out “in the short term.”

Sean Powter, meanwhile, is recovering from his latest hamstring blow. And given McCarthy’s admission that Douglas’s club man “just started running,” Powter appears to be in danger of missing Cork’s Nov. 8 semifinal in Munster against Kerry.

Sean White returns to training this week after a hamstring injury.

Cork is already planning without middle Liam O’Donovan, who tore his cruciate ligament earlier in the year.

Among those called up to the squad for the truncated inter-county season are Niall Hartnett (Douglas), Jack McCarthy (Carrigaline), Blake Murphy (St Vincent’s), Daniel O’Mahony (Knocknagree) and Gavin Creedon (Kilshannig).

Cork resume their Division 3 League campaign at home to Louth this Saturday (Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 4pm). A win will see Cork move up with a round to spare.
