A group of senior officials have raised their main concerns around stopping the spread of Covid-19 during Christmas.

The Forum of Government Regulators, a group of agencies involved in enforcing and enforcing the guidelines, met on Friday to discuss the holiday period.

The meeting, which was attended by representatives from HSE, An Gardai Siochana, Failte Ireland, various government departments and more, outlined how the All Ireland finals are cause for concern.

People not wearing masks is another potential problem, along with too many people shopping during peak hours.

The holiday season is also a concern, and the group reminds businesses, pubs and restaurants that indoor gatherings are not allowed.

But a government spokesman also praised the “extraordinary efforts being made” by companies, employees and individuals.

These are the main topics of interest of the group for Christmas:

– Ahead of a high-profile sports weekend, particularly for the GAA, the importance of safely supporting your team was highlighted. Hobbyists and the hospitality industry are urged to fully respect the public health guidance

– Whenever possible, people are encouraged to shop outside of peak hours, and many retailers have extended their opening hours to facilitate a more secure shopping experience. Buyers are also encouraged to buy individually whenever possible.

– People are reminded of the importance of wearing face masks in public areas, this includes busy outdoor spaces such as shopping streets and queues.

– Companies are reminded not to hold meetings organized indoors. This means that restaurants and pubs that function as restaurants should not organize any events on their premises.
