A search is underway to find a mother of two at Dublin airport who came to the rescue of a Scottish lady on a flight during the “lowest point of her life”.
Radio station TodayFM launched the campaign to locate the woman after speaking with Amelia Leith, a Glasgow native, who had reached out to find her mysterious hero once and for all.
Amelia described the woman as her “guardian angel” who comforted her on a flight from Toronto to Dublin on January 11, 2017.
The unknown Dubliner was living in Toronto with her husband at the time and has two daughters, one of whom is named Courtney, who would already be in her teens or twenties.
She was flying back to Ireland from Toronto for a family reunion and traveling with another relative who Amelia believes was her sister or sister-in-law.
Speaking to Pamela Joyce on the Mairead Ronan show, Amelia explained that she was flying home to Glasgow from Canada, with a stop at Dublin Airport, and that she was heartbroken at the time.
She explained that she couldn’t stop crying on the flight and suddenly the Irish woman took care of her and hugged her from the back seat.
The mysterious figure asked Amelia if she was alright and the Glasgow opened up to the Irish girl, opening her heart as they looked after her for the rest of the flight.
While Dub wrote down contact details and asked Amelia to stay in touch, Glasgow lost the role.
But he said he hasn’t stopped thinking about her for the past four years and wants to track her down once and for all and thank her for being there in her darkest hour.
TodayFM said: “On this day in 2017, Amelia from Scotland traveled from Toronto to Dublin during ‘the lowest point’ of her life.
