Ryan Tubridy has shared a cool “gift” he received from RTE staff after his alleged “f-bomb” at the Toy Show.

The Late Late Show host seemed to say “oh, for crying out loud” after a large bottle of Fanta exploded on him, instantly going viral.

And on his return to work this morning, Ryan’s colleagues at the national station surprised him with the “gift” of a bottle of Fanta and a snap of the iconic moment.

On Instagram he wrote: “A gift from my ‘friends’ and ‘supportive’ colleagues this morning.”

It comes after Tubs claimed that the slip of the tongue wasn’t an “f-bomb” after all, but rather a “b-bomb.”

He told his RTE Radio One show this morning: “I opened the bottle and it went everywhere. I still don’t know if the bottle was shaken by someone shaking it behind the scenes, or if it was just one of those bottles.

“And apparently someone very naughty may or may not have said a certain word.

“And I’ve been laughing at it all weekend because my phone melted with all kinds of nice things from people, thanks by the way for your nice comments.

“The truth of the matter was that people thought it was an f-bomb, it wasn’t, strangely, it was an ab-bomb.

“You have to listen very carefully, it probably rhymes closer to a word like pollocks than anything else.

“That’s the word that has been misunderstood, which is fair enough. I don’t care that it’s not an angel, but listen closely and you’ll hear a slip.

“Everything was thought out with the best possible taste. My thanks to all the children and all their families for coming and having fun with us on Friday night, it was just magical, we loved everything.”

Ryan also paid tribute to everyone who had donated to the Toy Show appeal, which has now raised more than 6.4 million euros.

He added: “This blew me away. You probably saw it on Friday when we said that if we could win half a million euros for all those charities, we would be delighted. This is how our ambitions lined up.

“And then the money kept coming, they said it was 800,000, then I would turn around and it would reach a million, then I would turn around and it would be a million and a half.”

“The money came in so fast that the system couldn’t keep up.”
